"Walk
the Garden Path to find a CURE for Parkinson's Disease" |
|
The theme of
peace and serenity runs throughout each garden. |

(A) 106 S. Green
Valley Drive - Linda & Jim
Jones "And I shall have
some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow, dropping from the veils
of the morning to where the cricket sings, " W B. Yeats. Linda says, "this quote best describes what
my garden brings to me and I hope to others who view it ". The
geometric shapes of two boxwood parterres lend order to my garden as
well as to my thoughts. The monochromatic color scheme of greens, white
and blues is meant to calm the spirit, although I do admit to a
touch of chartreuse now and then. Come relax and pot up some flowers in
the garden house or fall into a wicker chair on the bluestone patio and
let peace drop slowly to you. |

(B) 360
S. Columbia
- Laury
&
Dan
Hartman Come to a contemplative garden that elicits peace and calm. Tucked in
old Napeville, this shade garden is
graced by large trees, blending textures, herights, colors and
foliage. Sacred spaces created and built by Dan & Laury invite and welcome
all. Enjoy "Tea Time Cottage ", experience the greenhouse, or
stop and reflect on restful, handcrafted benches in garden rooms. |

587 Clarrisa
Court - Mike &
Torrie Arthofer Walking
into this yard you will find extensive shade gardens with many native
plants. In the front yard sun and shade plants come together in a
harmonious way, featuring three spectacular hanging planters. Several
pathways coursing thru the gardens create a relaxing stroll where you
will be able to experience the different colors and textures in a shade
garden. In the back yard you will find different seating areas which
create garden rooms with their own views of the rock terraced gardens. A
large assortment of terra cotta planters, from Tuscany are interspersed
throughout the yard creating the feeling that you are in Tuscany! |

25W471 Plank Rd - The
G r o w i n g P l a c e Carol &
Rich Massat The gardens at The Growing Place were started by Emma Glatzhofer, Rich
Massat's aunt, in 1936. Some
of the original perennials are still there. The gardens have been a
labor of love. Carol, Rich's wife, lent her artistic eye and Rich, his
gardening prowess to create gardens that are filled with favorite and
newly introduced plants in over 600 varieties. The gardens really came
into their glory when Connie Page, an artist and gardener took over the
design and care of them. Her eye for color and gardening skills have
made the 2-acres of gardens a must see. |
